On 31 May and 1 June 2025, Peter Evans and Associates took part in BFD25, the annual Business for Doctors conference, held at the Pullman Melbourne On The Park under the theme “Diamonds: Brilliance in Business and Life.” The firm attended as a Silver Sponsor and exhibitor, and Dr Rosemary Listing presented two sessions to a room of more than 140 doctors, specialists, and practice owners.
Dr Listing described the Business for Doctors community as inspiring, generous, and switched on. The firm was proud to be part of it, and to share practical legal guidance with health professionals who are building and protecting their practices.

About Business for Doctors and BFD25
Business for Doctors is an Australian community that supports doctors with the business side of medicine, from finances and investments to the day to day work of running a practice. Its annual conference brings the community together for education, connection, and collaboration. BFD25 ran over two days in Melbourne and was intentionally kept to a focused group of more than 140 medical and health professionals, so that the learning and the connections were genuine.

Bulletproofing Your Practice: Legal Essentials for Growth, Risk Management and Exit Readiness
This session looked at how doctors can scale their practices safely while protecting themselves against avoidable legal and human resources risks. It covered employment and contractor agreements, privacy compliance, managing patient complaints, and preparing for a future sale or succession. The aim was to help attendees grow with confidence and protect the business they have worked so hard to build. The full session is now available on the BFD Education platform.
Your Practice, Your Legacy: Protecting Wealth, Family and Your Business Beyond Your Lifetime
This session explored how to safeguard both personal and business interests through thoughtful succession planning. It addressed wills, enduring powers of attorney, testamentary trusts, and the business continuity measures that matter in the event of death or incapacity. The focus was on peace of mind, and on the longevity and security of the practice.
A recognised voice in health law
Being invited to present two sessions at a national conference reflects the firm’s standing in health law, and Dr Listing’s work at the meeting point of medicine and law. She also spoke with Business for Doctors on their Doctor’s Lounge podcast, in a conversation that carried many of the same themes.
