What the register records
The register records that Dr Malik has been reprimanded. It does not give a date for the reprimand.
The register also records the same conditions on both his general and his specialist registration. In summary, the conditions require him to:
- work only in a hospital position approved by the Medical Council of NSW, which need not be limited to one hospital;
- get the Medical Council’s approval before changing the nature or place of his practice;
- consent to the Medical Council and Medicare Australia exchanging information to monitor his compliance; and
- bear the costs of complying with the conditions.
The Medical Council of NSW is the body that reviews the conditions. He has no undertakings recorded on the register.
What the register does not say
The register entry does not say what the reprimand or conditions relate to, when they were imposed, which body imposed them, or how long the conditions will last. It does not list a tribunal decision.
