What the register records
The register records that on 21 June 2024 the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal ordered that Dr Al-Mozany be reprimanded, and lists a tribunal decision dated 27 June 2024.
It also records that on 25 June 2024 the Tribunal imposed conditions on both his general and his specialist (orthodontics) registration. In summary, the conditions recorded on the register require him to:
- practise under supervision approved by the Dental Council of NSW, with supervision focused on patient assessments, treatment planning, informed consent, record keeping and orthodontic treatment;
- submit to audits of his clinical practice and patient records;
- practise only in an approved group practice with at least two other specialist orthodontists, one of whom is always on site;
- work no more than 35 hours a week, see no more than 120 patients a week and no more than 8 new patients a week, with initial consultations of at least an hour; and
- complete approved education on assessments, treatment planning, informed consent, monitoring general dental health and record keeping.
The register records that the conditions were to remain in place for one year, after which he could seek a review by the Dental Council of NSW.
What the register does not say
The register entry does not set out the findings behind the reprimand and conditions. It links to the tribunal decision, which is summarised separately on this site.
